End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) Scrappage
Filágueda carries out the scrappage of end-of-life vehicles (ELV), ensuring the proper routing of vehicles and compliance with all legal and environmental requirements. As a scrappage center integrated into the Valorcar network and duly licensed, we guarantee a secure process for both the cancellation of registration and the environmental treatment of the vehicle.
End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV)
An end-of-life vehicle is a car that is no longer in roadworthy condition or whose repair is no longer economically viable.
In these cases, the vehicle must be sent to authorized operators, where the process of decontamination, dismantling, and recycling of components and materials is carried out.
Filágueda receives or collects end-of-life vehicles and ensures they are sent for appropriate treatment in accordance with current legislation.
How Vehicle Scrappage Works
The vehicle scrappage process includes several essential stages, such as:
- verification of necessary documentation
- reception or collection of the vehicle
- transporting the vehicle to the scrappage center
- depollution, dismantling, and separation of components
- recycling and recovery of materials
This process ensures that the vehicle is treated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Required Documentation
To proceed with the scrappage of an end-of-life vehicle, the following documents are normally required:
- updated owner identification document (Citizen Card or Identity Card and Tax ID card, or another equivalent document such as a residence permit)
- vehicle documents (registration certificate and title of ownership or the Single Automobile Document)
- registration printout (complete version if vehicle documents are unavailable)
- tax identification card (if not in possession of a Citizen Card)
It will also be necessary to complete the IMT Model 9 (updated version), a document available at our establishments, duly signed by the applicant as per the owner’s identification document.
In the case of companies, the signature must be notarized by the authorized representative(s); a valid permanent certificate code is also required, along with registration on the https://siliamb.apambiente.pt/ platform with an established facility.
Special Situations
There are some specific situations that may require additional procedures, such as:
- deceased vehicle owner
- underage vehicle owner
- vehicle with documentation seized by the IMT
- vehicles with reservation of title
- other less common cases

Vehicle Collection
Filágueda can arrange for the collection of the end-of-life vehicle.
In some cases, vehicle transport may be free of charge, depending on factors such as:
- condition of the vehicle (complete vehicle)
- distance
- ease of access to the location
